The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application system.
Applications are now open and will shut on 15 December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must fulfill the following criteria:
• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who originates from a home using a combined gross home earnings that does not exceed R350 000 for every annum.
• Individuals with disabilities qualify if their combined home income would not exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and want not submit any evidence of income.
*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent residents from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for every annum.
Applicants are reminded to supply the proper Identity Doc numbers, names, and surname, as reflected inside their South African ID.
NSFAS only funds people who are learning or plan to study at a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.
All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.
Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in read more the processing of their application.
